Yoga Therapy is never a substitute for medical care but research has proven that it can be used as a complimentary resource to help manage some of the symptoms of anxiety and depression and to enhance an individual’s sense of well-being.

Though anxiety and depression often accompany each other, from a yogic perspective, they require different approaches.  If anxiety is primary, practices will be given that work to soothe the body and mind. They relax the body, reduce the heart rate, and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.  If depression is primary, practices will be given that energize the body and mind. They increase mental activity and enhance metabolic functions.

Lisa will get to know you as an individual to find out exactly how these concerns are manifesting in your daily life and what practices may be most helpful to you.
