Yoga Therapy can play a role in relieving the symptoms of chronic, nagging, physical pain in the body.  For these type of concerns, Lisa will use a Functional Movement Screen to assess general muscle strength and weakness, core strength and awareness, breathing patterns, movement patterns, and postural observations. Any diagnosed pathologies will also be factored into the assessment.

Lisa will put all the pieces together and then decide upon a course of action and begin the process of teaching you practices to work on at home.  Follow up appointments will be scheduled to make sure things are improving for you. For many physical concerns, desired results may be achieved in 4-6 sessions.  For bigger pathologies, like Scoliosis for example, more sessions will likely be required.

Because Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach, body-mind awareness will play a great role.  Additionally, breathing practices for pain management, and meditation practices for mental/emotional challenges that tend to accompany chronic physical pain, may also be offered.
